EU Responsible Person - GPSR Compliance for Sellers
Who Needs to Comply?
If you sell general consumer products (non-food) in the EU and are not based in the EU, you must appoint an EU Responsible Person by December 13, 2024.
- Technical documentation
- Labels and Instruction for Use (IFUs)
- Type, batch or serial number which enable product identification
- Manufacturer’s details, such as name, their registered trade name or registered trademark, their postal and electronic address
- Cooperate with authorities upon request to mitigate product risks.
- Provide market surveillance authorities with necessary documentation to demonstrate product safety upon request.
- Notify the manufacturer if they suspect a product is dangerous.
- Inform national authorities about actions taken to address product risks.
Your listings on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Temu, Wish, and other marketplaces may be deactivated without an EU RP / EAR. Also, customs checks and market surveillance could result in product removal or fines.
