This service is designed for businesses placing electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) on the EU market that require an Authorised Representative for WEEE obligations and practical support with the registration process.

Important: EaseCert acts as your WEEE Authorised Representative and compliance support partner where permitted and applicable. You remain responsible for completing the required producer registration in the relevant country, paying all authority and registration fees, joining and contracting with the required Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) or take-back/recycling scheme, and paying all ongoing recycling, reporting, guarantee, and compliance fees.

EaseCert is not a recycling company, waste collector, Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO), dual system operator, or government authority.

Before WEEE: Product Safety Comes First

WEEE registration does not replace EU product safety compliance. A company can be correctly registered for WEEE and still be non-compliant with the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) or other applicable EU product legislation.

EaseCert therefore begins with confirmation of your product safety status before progressing with environmental compliance requirements.

GPSR and WEEE are separate legal systems:

• GPSR / Product Safety: covers product safety, risk assessment, technical documentation, traceability, labeling, Responsible Person requirements where applicable, and market surveillance.
• WEEE / EPR: covers producer registration, financing and organization of waste collection and treatment, reporting, take-back responsibilities, and participation in national WEEE compliance systems.

• GPSR Status Check
  Before beginning the WEEE process, we confirm whether the applicable EU product safety and Responsible Person requirements have been addressed. WEEE registration alone does not establish product safety compliance.
• WEEE Product Scope Review
  We review your product to determine whether it falls within the scope of WEEE requirements and help identify the appropriate equipment category for the selected Member State.
• Producer Status Assessment
  We assess your role in the supply chain and help determine who is considered the producer for WEEE purposes in the target country.
• WEEE Authorised Representative
  Where national legislation requires or permits the appointment of an Authorised Representative, EaseCert acts as your appointed WEEE representative for the covered country and scope.
• Registration Guidance & Application Support
  We guide you through the national producer registration process and help prepare the information and documentation required for your application.
• PRO / Take-Back Scheme Guidance
  We explain the applicable take-back, recycling, financial guarantee, or collective scheme requirements and guide you on the type of Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) or recycling arrangement you may need.
• WEEE Labeling Guidance
  We review the applicable crossed-out wheeled bin marking requirements and provide practical guidance for product, packaging, and accompanying documentation where relevant.
• Reporting Setup Guidance
  We explain the applicable reporting obligations and help you establish a process for tracking quantities placed on the market and preparing future declarations.

What Is Not Included

The following costs and activities are not included in the EaseCert service fee:

• Government or national WEEE authority registration fees
• Producer registration fees
• PRO, collective scheme, take-back scheme, or recycling organisation membership
• Recycling or environmental contributions
• Financial guarantees or insolvency guarantees where required
• Eco-fees based on quantities placed on the market
• Waste collection, transport, treatment, or recycling services
• Periodic reporting fees charged by authorities or schemes
• Renewal fees, annual fees, or future government charges

The customer must register with the relevant authority or system where required, enter into the necessary agreement with a PRO or other approved take-back/recycling arrangement, and pay all third-party fees directly.

Battery-powered products may also create separate Battery EPR obligations. WEEE and Battery EPR registrations are separate and should be assessed independently.

WEEE Compliance Process

Step 1: Order Confirmation

After ordering the WEEE Registration Service for EU Compliance (€500,00 EUR), our compliance team will contact you to begin onboarding.

Step 2: Product Safety Status Review

We first confirm whether the relevant EU product safety requirements have been addressed. Product safety compliance and WEEE compliance are separate obligations.

Step 3: Information Collection

We may request:

• Company name and legal entity details
• Registered business address
• EU and non-EU establishment information
• Target EU Member State
• Product description and images
• Brand or trademark
• Type of electrical or electronic equipment
• Whether the product contains batteries
• Estimated annual units and/or weight placed on the market
• Sales channels and customer type

Step 4: Producer & WEEE Scope Assessment

We determine whether your products fall within the applicable WEEE scope, identify the relevant equipment category, and assess your producer status for the selected country.

Step 5: Authorised Representative Appointment

Where an Authorised Representative is required or permitted, the appropriate appointment documentation is prepared and completed between your company and EaseCert.

Step 6: Registration Preparation

We provide guidance on the national registration process and help prepare the company, product, brand, and equipment information required by the competent authority or producer register.

The producer remains responsible for completing the registration and paying all applicable authority fees.

Step 7: PRO / Recycling Scheme Setup

Where the national system requires membership in a Producer Responsibility Organisation, collective scheme, take-back system, recycling organisation, or equivalent arrangement, we explain the requirement and provide implementation guidance.

The customer must contract directly with the required PRO or scheme and pay all membership, recycling, guarantee, and quantity-based fees.

Step 8: Registration Number

The competent national authority or producer register—not EaseCert—issues the official WEEE registration number once the applicable registration requirements have been completed and approved.

Registration numbers may be required by marketplaces, distributors, customs partners, or other commercial partners before products can be sold in the relevant country.

Step 9: Labeling & Reporting Setup

We provide guidance on:

• Crossed-out wheeled bin marking
• Producer identification requirements where applicable
• Recordkeeping
• Quantity tracking
• Periodic reporting obligations
• Take-back and recycling responsibilities

Ongoing Responsibilities

WEEE is not a one-time compliance obligation. After registration, producers may have continuing requirements including:

• Maintaining a valid producer registration
• Maintaining the Authorised Representative appointment where required
• Maintaining PRO or take-back scheme membership
• Submitting periodic quantity reports
• Paying recycling or environmental fees
• Maintaining financial guarantees where required
• Updating registrations when brands, product categories, company details, or market activities change

The producer remains responsible for these continuing statutory and financial obligations.

WEEE, Packaging EPR and PPWR Are Separate

Electrical products can trigger several separate EU compliance systems.

• GPSR / Product Safety – product safety, documentation, traceability, labeling, Responsible Person requirements, and market surveillance.
• WEEE EPR – electrical and electronic equipment producer registration, take-back, recycling financing, and reporting.
• Battery EPR – separate obligations where batteries are supplied with or incorporated into products.
• Packaging EPR – national producer responsibility obligations for packaging placed on each market.
• PPWR – packaging sustainability, recyclability, minimisation, labeling, documentation, recycled content, reuse, and future packaging conformity requirements.

• Additional countries, brands, entities, or materially different equipment categories may require additional services.
• National WEEE requirements differ between Member States.
• EaseCert does not guarantee approval by a national authority.
• EaseCert does not issue WEEE registration numbers.
• EaseCert does not pay registration, recycling, PRO, guarantee, or government fees on behalf of the producer.
• EaseCert is not a PRO, recycling scheme, waste collector, or government authority.
• The producer is responsible for the accuracy of all information submitted to authorities and compliance schemes.

This price covers the EaseCert professional service described above for 1 legal entity, 1 brand, and 1 EU Member State.

Third-party costs are not included. National authority fees, registration fees, PRO fees, recycling contributions, financial guarantees, reporting charges, and other statutory or scheme costs must be paid separately by the customer.
